Alpine Lakes
Alpine lakes are classified as lakes at high altitudes, usually starting around 10,000 feet (3,000 m) in elevation above sea level or above the tree level. Alpine lakes are usually clearer than lakes at lower elevations due to the colder water, which limits algae and moss growth in the water. These lakes are often surrounded by varieties of pine trees, aspens, and other high-altitude trees.
Alpine lakes are beautiful and we want to see them all! Take the Alpine lakes Challenge and share your journeys and photos with us.
